What is Students Against Terrorism?

Students Against Terrorism’s keynote fundraising event, Points For Peace, is an annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Since its inception in 2002, Points For Peace has operated as the main moneymaker for SAT. The tournament represents SAT’s unique organizational structure as a completely student-run organization, with a great appeal among youths in the community. Every year students in the school have come together to organize and run the basketball tournament, choosing an organization fighting our cause to donate and contribute to.

Our Goals:

This year, Points For Peace has returned: to the max! The tournament will be donating to not only one, but two organizations, with the goal of raising $60,000. The first organization has been chosen in honor of Max Glauben, a Holocaust survivor who recently passed away. Max was very influential in a program called JDC, an organization that works to aid Jews in need across the world. Specifically, we are working to support Ukrainian Jews who have suffered due to the ongoing conflict. Also, we have chosen to honor Max Ribald, an influential advocator in the Dallas Jewish community. He was extremely involved in the Yeshiva of Elon Moreh's basketball program, and therefore we have chosen to fund the resurfacing and reconstruction of a new basketball court for the Yeshiva's students.

Our History:

In March of 2002, six Yavneh Academy of Dallas high school students attended a yeshiva University sponsored leadership conference in Connecticut. It focused on active leadership and various ways to help the situation in Israel. After the insightful and motivational conference, the students returned to Dallas to share their thoughts with other students. The result was the formation of Students Against Terrorism.
